We’re pleased to announce our latest Standards Manual title, available for pre-order: Identity: Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv. The monograph presents 60 years of work from the seminal New York design firm founded by Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar in 1957, and their partner and designer Sagi Haviv. Together, they have created identities that have become icons of American culture, including the Chase Bank octagon, the NBC peacock, the PBS faces, the red Mobil O, the Smithsonian sun, and many more. For Identity, these trademarks are treated as longer case studies with sketches, documentation of applications, and related materials to provide a more in-depth understanding of the work. Additionally, the book presents interviews with each of the firm’s partners, as well as written contributions from John Maeda, Milton Glaser, and more.
